Reflecting on 2024: A Letter from Liftoff's President

Liftoff President Andrew Alford. To the left in text: "Reflecting on 2024: A letter from Liftoff's president"

Subscribers,

As businesses, we often take time to reflect as we approach the New Year. We ask ourselves questions like,

“What could we have done better?”

“Where did we fail?”

“What processes or procedures are letting us down?”

These are important questions that help us improve, but we often overlook the positives.

As our team looked back on 2024, we were overwhelmed by the amount of progress and success we've shared with all of you. Our incredible Liftoff community continues to thrive and grow, and we want to take this opportunity to share a few key highlights from the year.

As you read through this list, remember that our subscribers are the heart and soul of everything we do. None of this would have been possible without YOU, our valued partners in commerce!

Platform Enhancements

Over the past year, the Liftoff platform has grown by leaps and bounds. Here’s a snapshot of some of the progress we've made:

  • Features: We launched 118 individual features this year—too many to list here! For a full rundown, reach out to your account manager; they're happy to assist.

  • Hotfixes: Hotfixes include feature modifications, security patches, and updates. In 2024, we released a staggering 250 hotfixes!

  • Bugfixes: We resolved 96 bugs in 2024, ensuring a smoother experience for everyone.

  • Infrastructure: We underwent major infrastructure changes, including security patches and upgrades. Over 52 infrastructure-related epics were completed.

In total, this resulted in 500 releases throughout the year. That’s nearly two releases every business day, thanks to our continuous integration/continuous delivery workflow!

Security and Infrastructure

We’ve made significant strides in securing your clients' data:

  • PCI DSS Level 1 version 4: One of our most important initiatives was achieving PCI DSS Level 1 v4 certification. This process took nearly 10 months and required the dedication of four full-time engineers, along with the help of our partners at BreachLock and Security Metrics. We remain committed to ensuring the safety of your data and transactions on Liftoff.

  • DuploCloud: We’ve partnered with DuploCloud to augment our devOps and secOps teams, further transforming our infrastructure to enhance scale, performance, and security.

  • Microservices and Service-Oriented Architecture: We’re migrating to a more services-based approach to development. This will help us build apps faster, isolate processes more effectively, and build an infrastructure that meets tomorrow's needs.

Professional Services

This year, we further strengthened our relationships with partners such as Coverdale Group and Promo Pilot, helping us offer our subscribers the level of service and platform flexibility they need. Both bring unique perspectives, approaches, and technologies that make a real difference.

Subscriber Revenue

In 2024, our subscribers processed over $439M through 1.7M orders on the Liftoff platform, and that number continues to rise every year!

Liftoff’s Roadmap

As always, our roadmap is driven by you - our subscribers. The features, functionality, and updates you see in Liftoff are largely driven by the feedback and requests we receive. While we can’t tackle every feature, we work hard to implement the most impactful ones to ensure you stay on the cutting edge of commerce technology.

In Closing

I want to thank all of you for your continued support and loyalty. Together, we’ve built an incredible platform, community, and partnership. My hope for each of you is that you’ll take time this holiday season to be with those you love, creating lasting memories that will stay with you for years to come.

Thank you all for being the best part of Liftoff.

Sincerely,

 Andrew D. Alford
